Slapped Cheek Syndrome

If you are infected with the virus that causes slapped cheek during pregnancy, there can sometimes be serious effects on the baby. Fifth disease is highly infectious so most childcare and other workers have already been infected before they are pregnant, and that is okay. If you want to know if you are immune, or you suspect you have been exposed to slapped cheek while pregnant then please ask Dr Bell and he will perform the appropriate tests.
